Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress to Host Hearing on Congressional Reform with Six Former Members of Congress
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chairman Derek Kilmer (D-WA) of the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress announced that the Select Committee will hold a hearing on Wednesday, May 1st titled, “Speaking from Experience: Former Members on Congressional Reform.”

The Select Committee will hear from a bipartisan panel of six former Members of Congress who will share their experiences while serving in Congress and highlight a number of possible areas for reform.
The witnesses are expected to focus on a broad range of issues including staff recruitment, transparency, technology, building civility and trust, and improving the quality of life for those working in the legislative branch.
